New Branch of Successful Philadelphia Firm, The DC Apartment Company, Marks First in Firm’s National Expansion

WASHINGTON, D.C. – December 1, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — The Philly Apartment Company, headquartered in Philadelphia, today announced the opening of a new Washington, D.C. office that will be led by Director of Sales Eric Suissa.

The Philly Apartment Company (http://www.phillyapartmentco.com) is a unique and innovative leasing company that has revolutionized the apartment rental process through its distinctive RentMatch service. This service, offered free of charge to renters, uses certified rental specialists to help each renter determine their needs and interests, who then sifts through hundreds of apartments to narrow down the results, and books appointments to ease the search process for each renter.

In the greater Philadelphia area, the company works with more than 5,000 renters each month and handles leasing for the majority of the management companies and developers in the vicinity, including PMC Group, Historic Landmarks, Forest City, EB Realty, Tower Development, Bozzuto, and University City Housing.  The company’s incredible customer service and successful track record have translated into a sustained 20 percent year over year growth since the company was founded in 2004.

The opening of the office in Washington, D.C. marks the first in a planned national expansion. The Philly Apartment Company Founder and CEO Justin Cleary saw Washington D.C. as the first logical step in building out the company’s national presence.

“Washington, D.C. represents a significant opportunity for the firm to expand its reach,” said Cleary. “Due to the sheer volume of renters – and a need for the type of services we offer to renters, landlords and management companies – Washington is a great market in which we can expand our business.”

Upon officially launching last week, The DC Apartment Company is poised to represent more than 8,000 rental units, and has signed on with several management companies, two of the most prominent including Gates Hudson and Grady Management.

As Director of Sales, Suissa will lead a team of 20 agents and oversee the operations, marketing and partnerships for the D.C. office.  Suissa has more than a decade of experience in business management and received a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in real estate from American University.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to head up The DC Apartment Company,” said Suissa.  “I am confident that our services will resonate with locals and landlords and am looking forward to launching our presence here.”
