Metro Commercial Inks More Leases at 400,000-Square-Foot Retail Center

Retail space and a pad site still available at Carlisle Crossing

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – March 27, 2008 – Metro Commercial, the region’s largest full-service retail real estate firm, announced today that is has recently executed new lease transactions for Carlisle Crossing, the 400,000-square-foot mega retail shopping center on York and Trindle Roads.Metro Commercial negotiated the lease transactions for Aldi, Dollar Tree, Verizon Wireless and Classy Nails, which are among the latest retailers to join the shopping center in the growing city of Carlisle.

Metro Commercial has played a significant role in Carlisle Crossing’s development, having brokered the sale for Target and PetSmart during the center’s pre-leasing. The Conshohocken-based firm also manages the center’s property.  

“Carlisle Crossing is important for our community and brings new shopping opportunities to all area residents,” says Metro Commercial Property Manager Dennis Barris. “I am very excited to be involved with Carlisle’s premier shopping center.”

The center, which opened in October 2005, is also anchored by Kohl’s and Michaels. Other tenants of Carlisle Crossing include F&M Bank, Cold Stone Creamery, Pier 1 Imports, Old Navy, Mattress Warehouse, Game Stop, Cost Cutters, Sally Beauty Supply, Starbucks, Red Robin, Yankee Candle and Famous Footwear.

Carlise Crossing is now 95 percent leased with 13 vacancies ranging from 1,200 – 12,300-square-feet still available. A pad site is also available for a free standing retailer. The center is accessible from both York and Trindle Roads and has great visibility from Interstate 81.

“The shopping center is certainly an asset to Carlisle,” says Karen Witherow, Main Street Manager at the Downtown Carlisle Association. “It has also made a statement about the economic vitality of the area.” According to Witherow, York Road has been redesigned in order to accommodate an increased traffic flow near the shopping center.

Carlisle Crossing, near exit 49 of Interstate 81, is a recent example of Cumberland County’s commercial growth. The area has also experienced rapid residential growth. According to U.S. census population estimates from July 1, 2004, the county now has 221,397 residents, up nearly 8,000 from 2000.
