Public Hearing on Proposed Changes to PHA Grievance Procedure

WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 16, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — PHA has scheduled a public hearing  from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2013 at the John F. Street Center, 1100 Poplar Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123 on three proposed changes to its Grievance Procedure, which applies to public housing and to PHA’s limited partnership (“PAPMC”) sites.

The proposed changes are to:

  1. lengthen the time for residents to file grievances from 10 days to either 14 or 30 days, depending on the nature of the Lease Termination Notice;
  2. add provisions for assistance to limited English proficient persons; and
  3. clarify that PHA does not need to send out records if the participants to a hearing already have them.

Written comments on the proposed changes to the Grievance Procedure should be sent by February 8, 2014 to PHA Corporate Secretary, Andrea Bowman via e-mail to: "> or to: Andrea Bowman, 12 S. 23rd St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.

After PHA’s consideration of any comments, the intended date for the amended Grievance Procedure to be effective is February 21, 2014.
