WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 25, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Keith Rothfus [PA-12] issued the following statement in support of House passed legislation that halts implementation of the Environmental Protection Agency’s [EPA’s] Clean Power Plan:
“Hardworking people in Pennsylvania will be among those hit hardest by EPA’s unprecedented regulations,” said Congressman Rothfus. “Unelected bureaucrats in Washington, many of which haven’t ever set foot in our industrial towns, are trying to regulate an entire energy industry out of existence. They designed impossible-to-meet mandates in an attempt to crush energy producers that don’t step-in-line with the President’s unworkable energy agenda.”
“EPA’s regulatory scheme would have an enormous impact on our local economies, costing hundreds of billions of dollars, shutting down power producers, and hurting lower-income and middle-class families with increased utility bills and diminished job opportunities for the next decade. Such devastating costs are unjustifiable and EPA must be stopped.”
