GRI 500: Know Your Property

No matter which side of the transaction you represent, knowing the property is essential. Successful agents can better serve their customers and clients by effectively and accurately communicating the key characteristics of a property. Learn about site structure, style and mechanicals; environmental hazards; and home inspections and warranties. This course will prepare you to:

• Provide a general description of the type of site, structure, and mechanical systems common to most residential properties

• Describe regional similarities and differences in the construction and style of homes

• Identify typical environmental hazards and problems that affect residential real estate transactions

• Describe the advantages of recommending professional home inspections to buyers and sellers

• Identify qualified home inspectors and describe a typical home inspection

• Distinguish between the two basis types of home warranty programs, and describe their potential benefits and problems

* Students must attend the entire class and achieve a 70 percent grade on a final exam to receive designation credit. *
