Harrisburg, PA – March 2, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Rebates and low interest loans are now available to help Pennsylvania families save energy costs by making their homes more energy efficient, Senate Democratic Whip Michael A. O’Pake (D-Berks) said today.
Rebates of up to $500 or low-interest loans are now available to help homeowners purchase new energy efficient heating and cooling systems, programmable thermostats, water heaters, insulation, windows, doors, geothermal and “whole house” improvements using Home Performance with Energy Star, according to the Senator.
“This is the next phase of Pennsylvania’s landmark $650 million alternative energy strategy and it is directly aimed at helping Pennsylvania’s families make their homes more energy efficient so that they can save in both energy usage and in energy costs in the future,” O’Pake said.
The program is available to families with household incomes of up to $150,000 who are making qualifying improvements to their primary residences.
