-

Washington, D.C. – February 16, 2016 – (RealEstateRama) — The Philadelphia Housing Authority and its agent, the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority, have identified over 1000 properties in the Sharswood/Blumberg neighborhood that it seeks to take through eminent domain proceedings.  Approximately 100 of these properties are occupied.  Community Legal Services, along with its partners the Public Interest Law Center and the Sharswood/Blumberg Neighborhood Advisory Committee, have prepared this three-page guide for clients whose properties are affected by the eminent domain proceedings.  The guide explains:

  • What people can do if they believe the amount of money offered for their property is too low
  • What to do if one’s name is not on the deed of one’s property
  • What rights tenants have who do not own their building
  • …and more.
