Congressman Fattah Statement on Philadelphia Business/Union Coalition Proposal to Raise Real Estate Tax

-

WASHINGTON – April 24, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Chaka Fattah (PA-02), issued the following statement on a proposal by business, union, and civic leaders in Philadelphia to raise the real estate tax, which has the potential to create new jobs and supply additional funding for the city’s schools:

“I support the coalition’s call to restructure the real estate and property tax in Philadelphia. This is a common sense proposal that is estimated to create up to 100,000 new jobs in our community over the next decade, while supplying much needed funding to our school system.

“This restructuring plan makes too much sense not to enact. I wholly support the coalition pushing this effort forward and urge our legislators to get this measure on the ballot.”
