Philadelphia – March 26, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — 32BJ SEIU and SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania, who combined represent over 47,000 property service and health care workers in Pennsylvania today announced their endorsement of Jim Kenney for Mayor of Philadelphia.
“Cities are electing strong progressive leaders like Jim Kenney, who put an end stop frisk, support airport workers, public schools and a $15/ hour minimum wage,” said Gabe Morgan, 32BJ’s Pennsylvania Director.
“Kenney represents Philadelphia’s best hope at beating back the income inequality that destroys our communities. His relentless commitment to fight this battle separates him from the pack.”
32BJ is the largest private sector union in Philadelphia, with thousands of members who live and work in the city. Known for workers who are highly active in local elections, 32BJ and HCPA will engage a large field program to support the endorsed candidates.
“The men and women who devote their lives to taking care of Philadelphians know that Jim Kenney will look out for their well-being,” said Neal Bisno, President of SEIU Healthcare PA.
With 145,000 members in eleven states and Washington, D.C., including 22,000 in Pennsylvania, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service workers union in the country.
